The Forged Physical Therapy Difference

We founded Forged Physical Therapy to break the typical physical therapy business model of overworked clinicians and under-attended clients. Just as the standard model of a physical therapist seeing multiple clients yields worse outcomes for patients, it is also a recipe for stress and burnout for the clinicians!

We believe that by focusing on one patient at a time, our patients can see better and faster results while we simultaneously create a healthier and happier environment for our team.

Our Team Members

Tahnee headshot_edited.jpg

Clinic Coordinator

Tahnee leads our administrative services division to enhance patient care and to ensure that our clinic operates smoothly and effectively.  Originally from Southern California, Tahnee has been a resident of SC for the past 14 years.

In her free time, Tahnee enjoys spending as much time as she can with her family. She especially enjoys thrift shopping with her teenage daughter and spending quality time with her husband. Her favorite thing about Forged Physical Therapy is talking with patients and helping to facilitate their recovery.

Doctor of Physical Therapy

Owen is a licensed physical therapist and a certified strength and conditioning specialist. He obtained his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of South Carolina. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Case Western Reserve University, where he also played football and rugby. Owen decided to pursue a career in physical therapy after going through sports rehab himself after several injuries. Another factor that led him to the profession was witnessing the positive impact physical therapy has had on his grandparents. He is passionate about providing top quality care and treating his patients like he'd want his family to be treated. When he's not in the clinic Owen serves in the SC Army National Guard and in his spare time he enjoys weightlifting, running, rucking, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Dr. Heather L Frederick, PT, DPT, OCS, Cert DN

Doctor of Physical Therapy

Heather is a licensed physical therapist, board-certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist and is certified in Dry Needling. She obtained her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Montana after receiving her Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina. She has an undergraduate degree in Physics from Presbyterian College where she played soccer. She has been active in the local soccer community as both a coach and a player.
Heather became interested in physical therapy after a sports injury, but helping patients with a wide variety of diagnoses move and feel better is what continues to fuel her passion for the profession. She has spent 25 of the last 32 years in the Columbia Metro area and upon returning to South Carolina is excited to join our team to be able to provide one-on-one care and specialized plans for each individual. Outside of the clinic, Heather enjoys spending time with her family - especially her nieces, nephews and godsons – as well as watching/playing soccer, traveling, running and spending time outdoors.

Dr. Seth Morris PT, DPT, CSCS

Doctor of Physical Therapy

Seth is a board-certified Doctor of Physical Therapy and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. A native of Lexington, South Carolina, he became involved in physical therapy after a high school sports injury.  Seth received his undergraduate and doctoral degrees both from The University of South Carolina where he worked with collegiate and professional athletes. He now specializes in shoulder injuries and sports rehab.

However, his passion for rehab extends beyond the realm of sports, as he works with a variety of populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, and post-operative care. In his spare time Seth enjoys walking his dog, playing the guitar with his band, and working out.

  • Do I need a physician's referral?
No. Under South Carolina Direct Access laws, you can be seen for 30 days without a physician's authorization.
  • I have a prescription for physical therapy at another clinic, can I come to Forged?
Yes! A prescription for physical therapy can be used at any clinic, regardless of your physician’s recommendation.
  • I am currently in physical therapy but I am not satisfied with my improvement, can I switch to Forged?
Absolutely! Patients frequently come see us after failing to improve their pain or range of motion with their current therapist. Our one-on-one approach is often able to help people who are struggling to improve in the traditional physical therapy clinical setting where therapists are tasked with treating multiple patients concurrently.
  • Do I need an X-ray or MRI prior to starting physical therapy?
No. Imaging is unnecessary for most patients we see. Doctors of Physical Therapy are trained in differential diagnostics and will inform you if you require imaging.
  • I had surgery months ago, but am still having stiffness, can physical therapy help?
Absolutely. PT is important immediately after a surgery, but we see many patients with total joints lacking strength and range of motion even after their therapy. We also see many ACL and shoulder reconstructions months after surgery and rehab to assist patients with their specific goals.
  • Which types of insurance do you accept?
We accept Medicare, Tricare, and Blue Cross Blue Shield. If you are working with a different insurer, please contact us to inquire about our cash rates. Several of our patients have told us that our cash rates compare favorably to their insured Out of Pocket rates they were paying at PT establishments that accepted their insurance!
